Our school nurse, Andrea Barrett, supports our school fortnightly on Tuesday afternoons. If parents have any concerns regarding their child's health or wellbeing they are welcome to make appointments with Andrea. If parents would like to book an appointment they will need to speak to Miss Jarvis, our Senior Learning Mentor.
Our school nurse, Tina Patten, supports our school every Thursday. She delivers parent workshops, health promotions and runs a 'drop in' session for parents and carers from 8-9am. Parents are welcome to come to the school office and ask to meet with Tina if they have any health concerns regarding their child.
Health Promotions 2017
Keeping our hands clean is one of the most important steps we can take to avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others. Many diseases and conditions are spread by not washing hands with soap and clean, running water. To support the children with their learning, Tina has delivered interactive hand washing sessions with each class.
To acknowledge 'World Hand Hygiene Day' on 5th May, we held a KS1'Hand Washing' parent workshop. Forty-eight children from years R, 1 and 2 attended the workshop with their parents. The children designed posters which have being displayed around school.
Tina has also delivered interactive 'Stranger Danger' health promotions to all our pupils. Keeping our children safe is a of great importance to parents and staff. We were pleased to see fifty-eight parents from years 1 and 2, attended our 'Stanger Danger' workshop.
The children took part in activities such as:
What is a Stanger?
What to do if I get lost?
Strangers and Safe Strangers
Jigsaw (8-10yr olds)
Kim & Lee (5-7yr olds)
