Welcome to Year 5 - an exciting year full of new challenges, discoveries and opportunities to shine! In our classrooms, we work together, support one another and always try our best. This year, we’ll be exploring fascinating topics, building our confidence, and becoming even more independent learners. We can’t wait to share our learning journey with you and celebrate all the amazing things we achieve!

Key Skills we are developing
This year, we will have a much stronger focus on oracy, helping children become confident, thoughtful and effective speakers. Across the curriculum, we will be encouraging pupils to listen carefully, build on each other’s ideas, use rich vocabulary and explain their thinking clearly. Through discussion, debate and collaborative tasks in every subject, we aim to help children develop their communication skills so they can express themselves with confidence and respect.
